JBE 3001
The JBE 3001 was part of a range of models at the time, this featuring a clear acrylic plinth. Recommended tonearms were either the SME or Mayware Formula 4 unipivot. The platter was the familiar JBE 6-discs platter, but customers could order it with a conventional platter, as see in one of the pictures below.
I've noticed on some examples of the Series 3 that they come with slightly different 'feet' which are made of metal, with rubber bits at the bottom. I've now seen these on two Series 3s, and I suspect they're an upgrade developed by the factory for the last examples made. Once again, only my hypothesis!

JBE 3001 - Mayware Formula 4 unipivot tonearm
This JBE 3001 is exactly as it left the factory, with the acrylic plinth pre-drilled for theMayware tonearm rather than the SME tonearm mount found on by far the majority of JBE deck.
JBE 3001 - Helius Scorpio tonearm, aftermarket feet and lid
This is my own JBE 3001. I bought it second-hand in the early 1980s and it came with an SME 3009 Series 2 Improved tonearm. This I soon changed to the Helius seen here. More recently I upgraded theft with these machined aluminium ones developed by Kridon Pantelli - he trades on eBay... hopefully this link will send you to his page - CLICK HERE. I spent a long time trying to get a new clear lid to replace the original smoked lid. Eventually I ended up at The Fraser Company - The lid was made to measure and was not cheap, but far better than anything else I found and highly recommended.
